Body Technician Lenzen Chevrolet | Chaska, MN Lenzen Chevrolet is looking for an experienced Auto Body Combo Technician to join our collision repair team. This is a union position for a skilled technician who is confident in both collision repair and automotive refinishing . The ideal candidate is able to complete quality repairs from start to finish, including body repair, preparation, paint, color matching, and final refinishing. Attention to detail and the ability to consistently produce repairs that meet manufacturer specifications and quality standards are essential. Responsibilities Perform complete collision repairs according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards Inspect damaged vehicles and determine the necessary repairs Remove, repair, replace, and properly align damaged body panels and components Perform dent repair, panel replacement, body straightening, and other collision-related repairs Disassemble and reassemble vehicles as necessary to complete repairs properly Prepare repaired surfaces for refinishing, including sanding, filling, masking, priming, and sealing Mix and apply automotive paints, primers, sealers, and clear coats Perform paint and refinishing work to manufacturer specifications Match colors accurately and blend adjacent panels when necessary Identify and correct paint imperfections and ensure a high-quality final finish Maintain proper paint application techniques, including proper film thickness, coverage, and finish Operate paint booths, spray equipment, mixing systems, and other refinishing equipment safely and effectively Follow proper procedures for paint preparation, application, curing, and cleanup Read and follow repair procedures, paint manufacturer recommendations, and OEM specifications Use proper measuring equipment and repair techniques when structural repairs are required Perform quality control checks throughout the repair process Communicate with the Body Shop Manager regarding repair progress, additional damage, and parts or materials needed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all OSHA, safety, environmental, and workplace procedures Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship Perform other duties related to the position as assigned Qualifications Previous experience as an Auto Body Technician, Collision Repair Technician, Refinish Technician, or Combo Technician Strong experience in both collision repair and automotive painting/refinishing Ability to complete quality paint and body repairs from preparation through final finish Ability to paint vehicles to OEM/manufacturer specifications Strong color-matching and blending skills Knowledge of automotive paint systems, refinishing products, and application techniques Ability to properly prepare surfaces for paint and achieve a quality finish Knowledge of collision repair procedures and modern vehicle construction Ability to accurately assess vehicle damage and determine appropriate repairs Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to safely and effectively operate body repair and refinishing equipment Valid driver's license I-CAR, ASE, OEM, or paint manufacturer certifications are a plus What We Offer Union position Competitive compensation Opportunities for training and professional development A professional, team-oriented work environment Established dealership with a strong reputation in the community Modern body repair and refinishing equipment Opportunities for a long-term career with Lenzen Chevrolet Physical Requirements This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and working in various positions for extended periods.
