Full-Time Automotive Technician Oakdale Auto Repair is looking for an experienced automotive technician to join our shop. We stay busy and work on a much wider variety of vehicles than the average repair shop. About half of our workload is regular automotive repair—engines, transmissions, cooling systems, suspension, brakes, diagnostics, maintenance, and similar repairs. The other half is the fun stuff: classic cars, hot rods, custom builds, LS swaps, carbureted vehicles, engine swaps, and other custom projects. What We're Looking For Previous professional automotive repair experience Must have your own tools and toolbox Able to perform repairs independently and efficiently Comfortable performing engine, transmission, cooling system, suspension, brake, and general mechanical repairs Diagnostic ability is a major plus Experience with classic cars and custom builds is a plus Carburetor tuning experience is a HUGE plus and we're willing to pay more for someone who is good at it Reliable and able to show up ready to work About Our Shop We're a laid-back, independent repair shop . We want someone who knows how to work on cars, does good work, and can get along with the rest of the shop. You won't be doing the exact same job every day. One day you may be replacing a radiator or transmission, and the next you could be working on a classic car, diagnosing a carbureted engine, or helping finish an LS swap. If you're an experienced technician who enjoys actually working on cars and building things , rather than only doing repetitive maintenance work, you'll probably enjoy working here. Pay is $25-$35/hour depending on experience and ability. Additional consideration will be given to technicians with strong diagnostic, classic-car, carburetor, fabrication, or custom-build experience. Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM. No weekends.
