Job Summary:
JHB Group is looking for a hands-on Specialty Vehicle Technician to join our production team building custom specialty trailers and vehicles. We are looking for candidates with a background in carpentry, electrical, construction, automotive, RV/trailer work, or another hands-on skilled trade. We are looking for people who bring a strong foundation in either carpentry or electrical work and are interested in learning additional skills as part of our production team. What You'll Do As a Specialty Vehicle Technician, your work may include: Build and install cabinetry, wall panels, countertops, trim, flooring, and other interior components. Measure, cut, fit, assemble, and install materials accurately. Install electrical components and systems, including 12V
DC, 120V
AC, and low-voltage wiring. Route, secure, terminate, and organize wiring throughout trailers and vehicles. Install outlets, switches, lighting, electrical panels, batteries, inverters, and other equipment. Read and follow drawings, wiring diagrams, measurements, and build documentation. Install equipment, hardware, fixtures, and other components within specialty trailers and vehicles. Test completed work and troubleshoot fitment, electrical, or installation issues. Inspect your own work for quality, accuracy, fit, finish, and functionality. Complete assigned work within production timelines while maintaining quality and minimizing rework. Communicate issues or concerns that could impact the build. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Cross-train in additional areas of production and develop new technical skills. What We're Looking For Hands-on experience in carpentry, cabinetry, electrical, construction, automotive, RV/trailer work, or a similar skilled trade. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with your hands. Comfortable using common hand and power tools. Ability to accurately measure, cut, assemble, install, or wire components. Ability to follow drawings, diagrams, measurements, and written instructions. Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship. Ability to identify problems and work through solutions. Willingness to learn skills outside of your existing trade or area of experience. Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask questions or communicate an issue. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work effectively as part of a production team. Physical Requirements This is a hands-on production position that requires standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, climbing in and out of trailers, working in confined areas, using hand and power tools, and lifting and carrying materials and components as required for the position.
