Job Summary:

JHB Group is looking for a hands-on Specialty Vehicle Technician to join our production team building custom specialty trailers and vehicles. We are looking for candidates with a background in carpentry, electrical, construction, automotive, RV/trailer work, or another hands-on skilled trade. We are looking for people who bring a strong foundation in electrical work and are interested in learning additional skills as part of our production team. What You'll Do As a Specialty Vehicle Technician, your work may include: Install, wire, and troubleshoot 12V

DC, 120V

AC, and low-voltage electrical systems in specialty trailers and vehicles. Route, secure, terminate, label, and organize wiring throughout builds. Install and connect batteries, inverters, converters, electrical panels, outlets, switches, lighting, breakers, fuses, relays, and other electrical components. Perform specialty vehicle wiring, including vehicle power integration, accessory wiring, and equipment installations. Install and terminate Cat5/Cat6, coax, networking, communications, and other low-voltage systems. Read and follow electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, drawings, and build documentation. Test completed electrical systems for proper operation and troubleshoot wiring, power, connectivity, or installation issues. Use meters and other diagnostic tools to identify electrical faults and verify completed installations. Inspect your own work for electrical safety, accuracy, organization, functionality, and quality. Complete assigned electrical work within production timelines while maintaining quality and minimizing rework. Communicate electrical, material, or design concerns that could impact the build. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. What We're Looking For Hands-on electrical experience in automotive, RV/trailer, vehicle upfitting, construction, industrial, low-voltage, or a similar environment. Working knowledge of 12V DC and/or 120V AC electrical systems, with experience in both preferred. Experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting wiring and electrical components. Familiarity with batteries, inverters, breakers, fuses, relays, switches, lighting, electrical panels, and related components. Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings, measurements, and written instructions. Experience with networking, Cat5/Cat6, coax, communications equipment, or specialty vehicle wiring is a plus. Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify problems and work through solutions. Strong attention to detail, particularly with wire routing, connections, labeling, organization, and finished quality. Comfortable using common hand, power, electrical, and diagnostic tools. Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask questions or communicate an issue. Reliable attendance and punctuality and the ability to work effectively as part of a production team. Interest in developing skills outside of electrical. JHB's Specialty Vehicle Technicians work across multiple areas of production, and we're looking for individuals who are interested in expanding their skill set in areas such as carpentry, cabinetry, assembly, equipment installation, and other aspects of specialty vehicle and trailer production. A willingness to jump in where needed and continue developing into a well-rounded Specialty Vehicle Technician. Physical Requirements This is a hands-on production position that requires standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, climbing in and out of trailers, working in confined areas, using hand and power tools, and lifting and carrying materials and components as required for the position.
