Tire and Automotive Service Assistant

Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Shop Helper to assist with daily automotive service and maintenance tasks. This is a hands-on, part-time position for someone who enjoys working with vehicles and contributing to a fast-paced team environment. Automotive or tire-service experience is preferred, but we are willing to train a dependable candidate who has mechanical aptitude, follows directions, and is eager to learn. High school students, recent graduates, and students enrolled in automotive/technical programs are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Mount and balance tires using shop equipment Remove and install wheels and tires Assist with tire rotations, flat-tire repairs, and tire-pressure checks Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation Assist technicians with basic vehicle maintenance and repair tasks Check and top off vehicle fluids as directed Retrieve, organize, and stock automotive parts and supplies Move customer vehicles in and out of service bays when authorized Properly handle and store tires, wheels, tools, and equipment Clean tools, service bays, and work areas Follow all shop procedures and workplace safety requirements Perform other automotive shop duties as assigned Keeping busy without constant supervision Qualifications Dependable, punctual, and ready to work Comfortable using tire-mounting and wheel-balancing equipment, or willing to learn Basic automotive or mechanical knowledge is preferred Able to follow instructions and work effectively with technicians and other team members Able to stand, bend, kneel, reach, and remain active throughout the shift Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are preferred Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and professional workplace What We Offer Competitive pay of $20.50 per hour Typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Hands-on automotive service experience On-the-job training Supportive, team-oriented workplace Opportunity to develop additional automotive service skills To apply, please submit your résumé or a summary of your relevant experience and availability.
