Automotive Mechanic Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately. Repair and maintain various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, powertrain components, suspension, steering, brakes, and electrical systems. Conduct ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibrations and repairs to ensure modern safety features function correctly. Service diesel engines and perform oil changes, tire rotations, wheel alignments, shocks & struts replacements, and tire services to maintain vehicle safety and performance. Utilize hand tools and power tools efficiently for repairs such as welding, auto body work, and component replacements. Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical problems effectively. Provide excellent service by explaining repairs clearly and offering maintenance recommendations to enhance vehicle longevity. Maintain detailed service records and complete auto estimating tasks accurately for billing purposes. Automotive Mechanic Experience Proven dealership experience or extensive background in automotive repair with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and mechanical systems. Hands-on experience working with GM vehicles or similar makes is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of ADAS technology, air brake systems, diesel engine repair, transmissions, wheel alignment, suspension systems, shocks & struts is highly desirable. Skilled in using automotive electrical systems testing equipment along with schematics interpretation. Experience with auto body repair or welding techniques is a plus but not required. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to work efficiently with hand tools and power tools in a fast-paced environment. Excellent service skills coupled with auto estimating proficiency to ensure transparent communication with clients about repairs needed.
