Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately. Repair and overhaul powertrain components including transmissions, diesel engines, and engine systems to restore vehicle performance. Conduct maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, wheel alignments, suspension repairs (shocks & struts), brake repairs, and wheel alignments. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical systems repair tools to execute repairs efficiently and safely. Service ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and automotive electrical systems to ensure modern vehicle safety features are functioning correctly. Work on heavy equipment mechanics when required, including air brake systems and other specialized mechanical systems. Read and interpret vehicle schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical issues effectively. Maintain detailed service records, complete auto estimating tasks, and communicate repair needs clearly with customers for transparency and trust. Experience Proven experience working in the automotive repair industry with a strong background in dealership or independent shop environments. Demonstrated expertise in automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems repair, transmission repair, and diesel engine repair. Hands-on experience with automotive suspension system repair, wheel alignment procedures, tire service, shocks & struts replacement, and brake system overhaul. Familiarity with automotive electrical systems including ADAS technology is highly desirable. Knowledge of GM vehicles or similar makes is a plus but not required; a broad understanding of various vehicle brands is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience working with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and auto estimating software. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients while maintaining professionalism.
