Fleet Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

Maintenance Technician responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing medium and heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and related mechanical systems. Job Requirements High school diploma or GED. Valid state driver's license. Experience maintaining or repairing medium and heavy-duty transportation equipment. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Ability to read and interpret vehicle schematics and service manuals. Experience using diagnostic tools and software. Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA maintenance requirements. Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements and lockout/tagout procedures. Experience using hand tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks, pneumatic tools, and diagnostic equipment. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft applications. Ability to lift, move, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted. Ability to provide required personal tools. Preferred Skills 1-2 years of experience maintaining and repairing medium or heavy-duty transportation equipment. Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Experience performing roadside repairs. Experience with preventative maintenance programs. Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators. Experience maintaining fleet maintenance records and inspection documentation. Job Responsibilities Perform routine and scheduled preventative maintenance on medium and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. Perform roadside repairs and reactive maintenance as required. Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Use diagnostic tools and software to identify equipment issues and perform corrective repairs. Maintain trucks, trailers, and related fleet equipment. Complete maintenance records, inspection reports, and repair documentation. Follow lockout/tagout procedures and applicable OSHA safety requirements. Maintain compliance with DOT and FMCSA maintenance standards. Organize parts, tools, and materials in designated maintenance areas. Support fleet readiness by completing inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities. Use precision measuring tools as required for maintenance and repair work. Support weekend and overtime maintenance coverage when required by operations.
