Job Description

The H&K Group is seeking Truck Shop Mechanics for 1st and 2nd shift to service and repair diesel trucks and heavy construction vehicles. In this role, you will perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, brake and engine repairs, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting, and DOT inspections. You will maintain accurate service records, follow safety and environmental procedures, and collaborate with operators and supervisors to keep equipment operating efficiently. Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and heavy construction vehicles Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, and safety checks on fleet equipment Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, and brake systems Conduct DOT and safety inspections in compliance with regulations Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts usage Operate shop tools and diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently Communicate repair status and equipment needs with supervisors and operators Follow all company, OSHA, and environmental safety procedures Required Skills Diesel engine diagnostics and repair Hydraulic system troubleshooting Electrical system diagnostics Brake and suspension repair Welding and cutting basics Use of diagnostic scan tools Preventive maintenance procedures Reading repair manuals and schematics DOT and safety inspection knowledge Recordkeeping and work order management
