Job Description

Turn Wrenches. Haul Iron. Take Care of Customers. At Tejas Equipment Rentals, every machine has to be serviced, inspected, and delivered ready to work
  • and this role does all three. We're hiring a full-time Equipment Mechanic / Delivery Driver at our San Marcos branch: a hands-on dual role position for someone who can maintain and repair our fleet in the shop and deliver it to customers behind the wheel of a company F250 with trailer. This isn't an entry-level make-ready job, and it's not journey-level diagnostics
  • it's the sweet spot in between.
If you've got some real wrench time under your belt, know your way around a truck and trailer, and want a role with variety and a clear path up the mechanic ranks, this one's built for you. The Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage Life Insurance Health Savings Account Paid Time Off Competitive pay Monday-Friday schedule, with occasional Saturdays to meet customer demand What Your Day Looks Like In the shop: Inspect and service equipment so every machine is in top working condition before it hits a job site Perform preventive maintenance and routine repairs
  • oil and filter changes, fluids, batteries, tires, hoses
  • and work up to troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic issues alongside our experienced techs Make equipment customer-ready: clean, checked, fueled, and good to go Keep accurate repair and maintenance records On the road: Deliver and pick up rental equipment using a company-provided F250.
Load, chain, strap, and block equipment in strict accordance with DOT procedures Conduct pre-trip inspections on trucks and trailers, and inspect equipment before and after every pickup Answer customers' general questions about safe operation at drop-off Report equipment damage, delays, or accidents to the Branch Manager promptly Stay in communication with the branch and dispatch on delivery schedules

If those sound like you, you'll fit right in. What It Takes Valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record (MVR check at hire and annually) At least 23 years of age (required to operate company vehicles) At least 6 months of full-time experience driving a truck and trailer Hands-on mechanical experience
  • you've done preventive maintenance and basic repairs on vehicles or equipment and are ready to build toward more advanced diagnostics Comfortable maneuvering and backing a truck and trailer in tight spots, heavy traffic, and all weather Able to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 90 pounds Safety-minded, dependable, and a strong communicator A can-do attitude, pride in your work, and willingness to learn new tools and technology Why Tejas?
