Heavy Truck Mechanic Location:
Broadway, VA 22815 Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Truck Mechanic to join our team in Broadway, VA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy trucks(feed hauling) and commercial vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy trucks and commercial vehicles. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment. Repair or replace defective parts including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems. Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations. Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts inventory. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems. Keep up-to-date with the latest industry standards and repair techniques. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training preferred. Proven experience as a heavy truck mechanic or similar role. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports. Proficient with hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and computer systems. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Work Environment This position involves working in a garage or outdoor environment, often in varying weather conditions. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy parts and equipment.
