Akkodis is seeking an Avionics Technician for a Contract job with a client in Holbrook, NY . The ideal candidate will have experience in aviation maintenance, aircraft component repair, oxygen systems, and fire suppression equipment, along with strong troubleshooting and testing capabilities.
Rate Range:
$23/hour to $27/hour ; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Avionics Technician Job Responsibilities Include:
Perform overhaul, repair, and maintenance activities on aircraft oxygen masks, oxygen cylinders, regulator assemblies, fire extinguishers, and other aviation components in accordance with approved procedures and manufacturer specifications. Inspect incoming equipment and components, evaluate condition and serviceability, and document findings in accordance with maintenance and quality requirements. Utilize pressure gauges, flow meters, and related testing equipment to verify functionality, performance, and compliance of repaired and overhauled components. Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues by following maintenance manuals, technical documentation, and OEM repair procedures to identify and resolve equipment deficiencies. Perform regulator installation, torque applications, hydrostatic testing of oxygen cylinders, and other component servicing activities while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards.
Desired Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED is required. A minimum of three to five years of experience performing maintenance, repair, overhaul, testing, or inspection activities within aviation, aerospace, or related technical environments. Experience working with aircraft oxygen systems, fire suppression equipment, pressure systems, or similar aviation safety-related equipment. Proficiency in the use of hand tools, mechanical assembly tools, gauges, test equipment, and troubleshooting techniques used in component repair operations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, parts manuals, maintenance manuals, safety procedures, engineering documentation, and technical instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification is strongly preferred. Experience working with high-pressure oxygen systems and related servicing, testing, and maintenance processes. Previous experience within aircraft maintenance, aviation component repair, aerospace manufacturing, or MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) environments. Pay Details:
