Job Title:
Avionics Technician Job Description This role focuses on fabricating, installing, and testing avionics and electrical systems on helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. You will work hands-on with aircraft interiors, wiring harnesses, antennas, and electrical components to support safe, reliable, and compliant avionics installations and repairs. If you have questions or would like to speak directly about this role, please call TJ Nowak @ 610 249 2798 Responsibilities Fabricate and install basic avionics and electrical systems in accordance with standard aircraft practices. Assist high-level technicians with more complex avionics and electrical installation tasks. Disassemble and reassemble aircraft interiors as directed to facilitate avionics installation, modification, or repair. Perform light sheet metal fabrication as directed to support avionics installation or repairs. Assist in developing and interpreting wiring harness maps or mock-ups. Fabricate, route, and install wiring harnesses in line with wiring schematics and aviation standards. Install antennas and ensure proper routing, mounting, and termination of associated cabling. Install coaxial cables, including routing, securing, and terminating as required. Complete or assist with OHM (ohm) checks and power checks to verify proper continuity and electrical performance. Complete or assist with ground checks to confirm correct operation of avionics systems prior to flight. Terminate wires using approved aircraft wiring and soldering techniques. Use wiring schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot avionics and electrical issues. Support avionics testing, troubleshooting, and aircraft inspections as needed. Work on avionics systems for Bell helicopters and Airbus aircraft under guidance and established procedures. Essential Skills At least 2 years of hands-on experience with avionics installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting. Proficiency with standard aircraft wiring practices, including routing, securing, and terminating wires. Ability to perform light sheet metal fabrication to support avionics installations and repairs. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and wiring schematics. Knowledge of aircraft electrical components and avionics systems. Experience with avionics installation, avionics systems, and avionics troubleshooting. Ability to perform testing and troubleshooting of helicopter avionics and aircraft electrical systems. Skill in soldering techniques appropriate for aviation wiring and electrical components. Experience with wiring harness fabrication, installation, and repair. Familiarity with aircraft inspection practices related to avionics and electrical systems. Ability to perform OHM and power checks and assist with ground checks. Comfort working on Bell helicopters and Airbus aircraft in an aviation maintenance environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience using wiring schematics and aviation drawings to diagnose and resolve issues. Experience in aviation, aircraft maintenance, or related technical fields. Hands-on experience with electrical testing, troubleshooting, and verification procedures. Ability to work collaboratively with other technicians on complex installations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Pleasant, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $48.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
