Chipton-Ross is seeking 2 C-17 Product Repair/Modifications Technicians for a contract opportunity at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), WA .
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
): Minimum 3 years of experience working from heights and using fall protection equipment. 3+ years of experience reading, understanding, and interpreting basic engineering drawings and technical specifications. 3+ years of experience detecting hazardous working conditions and safety problems through regular checks of equipment and work areas. 3+ years of experience in repair, maintenance, and retrofit processes and practices.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Assemble, disassemble, and/or modify systems by changing, removing, replacing, or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes. Oversee assembly, disassembly, or overhaul activities. Configure aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment. Troubleshoot complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components. Perform validation/verification testing of systems and components. Document procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance, including repairs, test results, applicable modifications, and inspection results. Inspect components and verify repairs meet flightworthiness requirements. Oversee training. Work under general direction. Must be able to pass Ground Operations Personnel (GOP) and air respirator medical physicals and maintain qualification/certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
(DESIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
): Knowledge of live aircraft operations, environment, and support, including pneumatic, hydraulic, structural, electrical, and propulsion systems. Minimum 3 years of C-17 platform experience preferred. Ability to read, interpret, and understand C-17 blueprints and USAF Technical Orders. Multi-system operations, maintenance, and repair experience, including pneumatic, hydraulic, structural, electrical, and propulsion systems. Ability to work safely within complicated schedules and establish criteria and work procedures to achieve a high level of quality, productivity, or service.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Experience/training using fall protection. Confined space training.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
High School diploma/GED and typically 4+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., vocational school/Associate degree + 2 years of related work experience, Bachelor's degree, etc.).
WORK HOURS
Full-Time / Variable Shift - 1st and 2nd shifts. Personnel will be assigned to a shift based on experience and business need.

Applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including the ability to view classified government information.

This role supports a contract governed by SCA (Service Contract Act).
