Floor Technician Fair Haven Irondale, AL Job Details Full-time $12 - $14 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible schedule Qualifications CMMS High school diploma or GED Refrigeration EPA Universal Certification Mechanical knowledge Full Job Description Position Responsibilities The Floor Technician is responsible for the complete floor-care process throughout the facility , from preparing and cleaning floor surfaces to completing the appropriate treatment and ensuring each area is ready for residents, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities include:
Performing routine and specialized floor care throughout the facility Sweeping, dust mopping, wet mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming floors Stripping, waxing, and refinishing hard-surface flooring as needed Buffing and burnishing floors to maintain a clean, professional appearance Cleaning carpets using appropriate carpet-care equipment and procedures Spot cleaning stains, spills, and heavily soiled areas Moving furniture and equipment as necessary to complete floor-care assignments Setting up appropriate safety signage and securing work areas while floor maintenance is being performed Operating and maintaining floor-care equipment, including buffers, burnishers, scrubbers, extractors, and vacuums Properly using and storing cleaning chemicals and supplies Cleaning equipment after use and reporting equipment that needs repair or maintenance Following infection-control, sanitation, chemical-handling, and workplace safety procedures Maintaining an organized floor-care schedule and seeing assigned projects through from start to finish Assisting the Environmental Services team with additional cleaning duties as needed What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and takes pride in their work . This position requires someone who can work independently, manage assigned projects, and recognize areas throughout the facility that require floor-care attention.

Candidates should be comfortable with frequent walking and standing, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling equipment, moving furniture, and operating commercial floor-care equipment.

Previous experience with floor care, housekeeping, environmental services, healthcare, or senior living is preferred. Experience with stripping, waxing, buffing, burnishing, and carpet extraction is a plus.
Pay:
$12.00 - $14.00 per hour
