The California Conservation Corps (CCC) is seeking a dynamic, resourceful, and community-minded professional to join our team as a Maintenance Mechanic for our brand-new, state-of-the-art Greenwood Residential Center! This is a unique, ground-floor opportunity to be part of the foundational team opening a brand-new facility from scratch, allowing you to establish new maintenance shops, set up facility safety protocols, and build a vibrant center culture from day one. In this pivotal role, you aren't just troubleshooting equipment, you are an essential pillar of support for our core mission. Under the general direction of the Administrative Officer at the Greenwood Center, you will diagnose and repair complex building systems, draft project scopes of work, and manage our center's vehicle fleet. Most importantly, you will work closely with a diverse group of young adults (our Corpsmembers), providing a unique opportunity to act as a professional mentor, teaching valuable hands-on trade skills, assigning daily tasks, and helping them develop the technical and professional skills they need to succeed in their future careers. Working Conditions The selected incumbent will enjoy working in a beautiful, park-like setting surrounded by mature trees, fresh air, and regular sightings of local wildlife, offering a peaceful and scenic backdrop to your workday. This position is located at a fully in-person residential center, requiring the incumbent to work on-site five days a week to effectively support our staff and corpsmembers. To help you balance your professional and personal life, the center offers flexible start and end times, which will be discussed and finalized upon a formal job offer. Candidates must be comfortable working in a dynamic, high-activity office environment that includes frequent interactions with young adults, daily computer use, and movement across a multi-building facility. California Conservation Corps is excited to take part in the first agency-wide collaborative physical career center. The career center is located in the heart of Downtown Sacramento in the brand new CNRA headquarters building. Services provided include one-on-one career consultations, application/resume review, career guidance, mock interviews, and tips for applying.
