Job Overview We are seeking a Maintenance & Groundskeeping professional for the hands-on facilities maintenance of the beautiful Monte Toyon Camp & Conference Center near Aptos. With 12 buildings of different types, outdoor recreational facilities, and miles of hiking trails at Monte Toyon , you are guaranteed to be professionally challenged...and never bored! The ideal candidate will have reputation as the local "MacGyver" for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining building mechanical, structural and electrical systems. Duties Carry out basic building troubleshooting and repair on: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, mechanical, structural, as well as kitchen equipment systems. Finishing skills in carpentry, tiling, and painting are a great plus for you. Join your co-workers on camp clean up days (4-5 per month) when Monte Toyon is being prepared for the next group of campers. Be willing to take off your tool belt and learn to help in the kitchen. Skills and Your Background If your work experience has been as the maintenance person at a remote camp, conference or retreat center, school, motel or apartment complex, you likely have the right skills to do well in this position. If your past jobs have required you to pitch in where ever needed (kitchen, housekeeping, groundskeeping) to ensure that customers want to return, you also might have the right background to well in this position.
