R.E.S.S. (Real Estate Signs & Services)

Sign Post Installer / Delivery Driver

Entry-Level JobVerifiedNo experience needed

Job Description

Overview R.E.S.S. has been making real estate signs in Orange County since 1978. For most of those years we left yard sign and post installation to a local partner. When he retired last year we brought it in-house rather than hand our customers to someone they didn't know, and it has grown fast enough that we need your help. You will run a daily route installing and removing sign posts at listings across Orange County (and beyond), deliver sign orders to brokerage offices, and help with commercial installs. Most days are four to eight stops. It is steady, independent work. Once you know the route you run it your way. But the sign is often the first thing a seller sees us do, so it needs to look like someone cared. What you will do Load the van each morning and run your route Install sign posts: set the post straight, square the panel, hang riders and brochure boxes Remove posts when listings close and return panels and riders clean Photograph every install and removal and log it in our software before you leave Deliver sign orders and supplies to real estate offices on scheduled runs Assist with commercial installs — banners, monument and post-mounted signs, some ladder work Handle rush and same-day requests when they come up Keep the van stocked, clean and roadworthy Work in the shop on lighter route days: drilling posts, prepping hardware, helping with production Schedule Monday through Friday. Early start — you are loading the van by 6:30am. No weekends, no on-call. The work is seasonal. February through August is our busy stretch and you can expect full days. September through January is slower, and shop work fills more of the week. What you need Valid California driver's license and a clean driving record — you will be on our commercial insurance and we run an MVR check Dependability. We guarantee our customers a 48-hour turnaround, and that promise runs through you Able to lift and carry 50 pounds repeatedly and dig or drive a post into hard ground Comfortable working outdoors year-round Comfortable with a smartphone — photos, a simple app, text and email Able to sequence your own stops and read a map Presentable and courteous around homeowners, agents and office staff Legally authorized to work in the United States What makes someone good at this You show up when you said you would You notice when a post is a few degrees off, and you straighten it before you drive away You would rather call and say you are running late than let someone wonder You take care of the van and the tools You know Orange County streets well enough to save yourself twenty minutes Helpful, not required Route experience of any kind — delivery, service, landscaping, pest control, pool, courier. Handy with tools and comfortable on a ladder. Pay and benefits $18.00 per hour, plus commission on every install Paid weekly Company van, fuel card and all tools provided Paid holidays Uniform shirts provided Room to grow — we are adding vans, not replacing people Physical requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling and lifting up to 50 lbs. Operating a post driver and hand tools. Driving up to 120 miles per day. Occasional ladder work. Working outdoors in varying weather.
