Position Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving facility equipment, machinery, systems, and grounds to support safe and efficient operations. This position performs preventive maintenance, responds to equipment breakdowns, completes work orders, and ensures all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with safety regulations and company standards. The Maintenance Technician works independently and collaboratively with operations personnel to minimize downtime and maintain a productive work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safety and Compliance Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and task-specific equipment. Comply with lockout/tagout procedures before servicing equipment. Understand and follow hazard communication requirements, including chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Report accidents, injuries, near misses, unsafe conditions, and equipment hazards immediately. Participate in safety training and maintain a safe work environment. Equipment and Facility Maintenance Inspect equipment, machinery, tools, buildings, and facility systems for signs of wear, damage, leaks, vibration, or operational issues. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and facility-related problems. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations. Perform general facility maintenance, including repairs to structures, equipment, and grounds. Coordinate with outside contractors when necessary. Verify equipment operates properly after maintenance or repair work is completed. Preventive Maintenance Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on production and facility equipment. Lubricate, clean, inspect, adjust, and test equipment according to maintenance schedules. Inspect and maintain motors, bearings, belts, chains, guards, sensors, hoses, electrical connections, and related components. Replace worn or damaged parts as needed and approved. Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records. Work Order Management Review assigned work orders daily and prioritize tasks with supervisor guidance. Document maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and recommendations for future work. Record accurate labor and completion information within the maintenance system. Communicate equipment downtime, delays, and repair status to supervisors and affected departments. Close work orders only after confirming repairs are complete and equipment is safe for operation. Tools and Inventory Control Properly use, store, and maintain company tools and equipment. Inspect tools regularly and remove damaged tools from service. Monitor inventory levels of repair parts, lubricants, and maintenance supplies. Assist with organizing maintenance shops, storage areas, and spare parts inventory. Report low stock levels and critical inventory needs. Communication and Teamwork Communicate effectively with production personnel, supervisors, vendors, and fellow team members. Participate in shift hand-off communications to ensure continuity of maintenance activities. Support continuous improvement initiatives that improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency. Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and teamwork at all times. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical training, trade school certification, or an Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Systems, Electrical Technology, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, agricultural, industrial, or production environment preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and facility systems. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment. Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and equipment documentation. Basic computer skills and ability to enter maintenance records electronically. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize work and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Physical Requirements Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and lifting. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier loads with assistance. Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, dust, noise, and around moving machinery. Ability to respond to emergencies and work flexible hours when necessary. Working Conditions Manufacturing, agricultural, hatchery, laboratory, warehouse, and office environments as assigned. Exposure to moving mechanical equipment, electrical systems, chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions. Use of required personal protective equipment is mandatory.

Pay:

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 45.0 per week
