Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, hands-on, experienced General Maintenance Technician to support daily operations in our food manufacturing facility. Responsibilities Perform basic preventive maintenance, including greasing, belt and gear replacement, and minor mechanical adjustments. Troubleshoot equipment issues and support production line changeovers. Load and unload semis using a forklift; move raw materials and finished goods safely. Manage a small warehouse, including inventory rotation, organization, and documentation. Assist with equipment installation or small facility repairs. Follow all GMP, HACCP, and food safety policies. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Basic machine maintenance experience (greasing, belts/gears, minor repairs) Forklift certification and forklift operating experience. Warehouse management experience. Ability to operate a pressure washer for long periods. Ability to stand in one location for extended periods. Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently. Knowledge of food‑safety practices (GMPs, sanitation basics). Ability to work in varying temperatures, including cold Raw Room and warm production areas. Ability to work around moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, and noise. Preferred Skills (Not Required) Welding (MIG/TIG or basic repair welding). Carpentry or facility repair experience. Experience operating a cardboard baler. Basic electrical troubleshooting. Physical Requirements Standing and walking for most or all of an 8‑hour shift. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and reaching. Regular lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 lbs. Ability to work in cold, refrigerated, or warm environments. Ability to be heard over machinery noise when needed. Work Environment Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, and varying noise levels. PPE required (gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses, etc.). Work performed in person at our Paxton, IL facility.
