What You'll Do:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. The Maintenance/Production role supports both first and second shift granulator operators while performing dedicated maintenance on the granulator on Saturdays. This hybrid position combines production support with basic mechanical maintenance to help keep the granulator and tilt shredder departments operating safely and efficiently. The role includes routine equipment upkeep, component replacement, and assisting production teammates as needed. Duties of the role include but are not limited to: Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Support first and second shift granulator operators in the granulator and tilt shredder departments. Perform routine maintenance and general upkeep on granulator equipment. Grease equipment components and perform other preventive maintenance tasks. Change blades, hammers, belts, motors, and bearings as needed. Perform dedicated granulator maintenance on Saturdays. Perform equipment inspections and report defects or needed repairs to management. Assist production and maintenance teammates as needed. Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment.
What We're Looking For:
Required:
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine equipment maintenance. Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. Reliable and dependable attendance. Experience maintaining or repairing industrial equipment. Experience changing bearings, belts, motors, blades, or hammers. Mechanical maintenance or production equipment training.
Preferred:
Previous maintenance, mechanical, industrial, or production experience preferred. Experience with granulators, shredders, conveyors, or similar recycling equipment preferred
