Sandy Pines is a seasonal member recreational community, RV resort & campground 30 miles southwest of Grand Rapids. The resort encompasses 813 acres with Lake Monterey, a 216-acre lake and an 18-hole golf course. There are 2,200 seasonal member sites including a 54-unit year-round condo complex, campsites, cabins, and seasonal park model rentals. Sandy Pines is committed to supporting, developing, and maintaining a quality Recreational Park benefiting its members, families, and their guests. Job Summary Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing park buildings, structures, grounds, equipment, and vital systems such as water, plumbing, and electrical systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintenance and repair of water system, water mains, risers, and wells. Repair and maintenance of plumbing and electrical systems. Maintain building structures, fences, playground equipment, and street signs; repair as needed. Maintain roads, parking lots, and sidewalks including snow removal and laying salt. Maintain dumpster areas. Lawncare duties (mow grass, removal of brush and leaves, weed whipping) in landscaped, shoreline, and green space areas. Repair and maintenance of all equipment including lake pumps and swimming pools. Operation of heavy equipment (tractors, lifts, etc.). Perform pump outs and winterization of park model trailers. Restock supply room, inventory, and order supplies; be aware of chemical safety. Assist park members and respond to maintenance emergencies. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older. Valid driver's license. Basic electrical training and knowledge of maintenance and repairs required. Knowledge of equipment and equipment safety required. Ability to work a variety of hours including holidays, Saturdays, and an on-call rotation. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Strong decision making and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively with members, guests, and coworkers. Working conditions This position involves working in both indoor and outdoor environments. It requires employees to work in all weather conditions including rain, snow, and heat. It requires the employee to walk on various wet and dry surface types including, but not limited to, pavement, grass, dirt, sand, cement, and tile. It requires the handling and use of various equipment, chemicals, and tools. Physical requirements Must be able to frequently walk and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 35 lbs. Must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move 25 lbs. or more repetitively. Must be able to bend, squat, twist, and reach (including above head) frequently and repetitively.
