Bostic, NC (On-site) Role Summary TMG & Haartz Solutions is launching a growing manufacturing operation in Bostic, NC and is seeking experienced maintenance professionals who want the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a start-up environment. The Industrial Mechanical Maintenance Technician is a critical technical role intended for a highly skilled maintenance professional who brings strong troubleshooting expertise, independent decision-making ability, and leadership potential. This is more than a traditional mechanic role, it is an opportunity to become a foundational part of the maintenance organization, working alongside engineering, production, and plant leadership to solve technical challenges, improve equipment reliability, and help shape the future of the facility. The ideal candidate will be someone who wants to grow with the business, take on increasing responsibility, and develop into a future technical leader within a dynamic and expanding manufacturing operation. Key Responsibilities Independently diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures in industrial manufacturing equipment and determine root causes. Perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and rebuild of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems including: Gearboxes Pumps Motors Bearings Shafts Conveyors Drive systems Hydraulic and pneumatic equipment Dismantle, inspect, repair, and reassemble equipment to restore safe and reliable operation. Inspect components for wear, misalignment, tolerance issues, and dimensional changes and make corrective adjustments. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities to reduce downtime and improve reliability. Troubleshoot recurring equipment issues and participate in root cause failure analysis. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation. Operate shop equipment and perform minor welding, fabrication, and mechanical modifications as needed. Support hydraulic systems, piping/plumbing, lubrication systems, and related mechanical equipment. Collaborate with engineering and production teams on technical problem-solving and equipment improvements. Assist in maintenance planning, work order prioritization, and maintenance coordination. Utilize CMMS and computer systems for work order management, documentation, and maintenance reporting. Provide technical guidance to less experienced maintenance personnel and demonstrate leadership potential for future supervisory responsibilities. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, and cost reduction. Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental, quality, and manufacturing standards including
IATF 16949.
Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education & Experience Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, or related field strongly preferred (may be required for highly qualified consideration). High school diploma/GED required. 5-7 + years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required. Demonstrated history of independent troubleshooting and technical problem-solving. Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint experience required. Technical Skills Advanced mechanical troubleshooting in industrial manufacturing environments.
Experience with:
Gearboxes Pumps Motors Bearings Mechanical drives Conveyors Hydraulics Pneumatics Root cause failure analysis experience. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical drawings. Working knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance planning software. Basic welding/fabrication and precision measurement skills. Strong computer proficiency and maintenance documentation capability. Must be able to work on ladders and elevated platforms. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment, industrial noise, heat, humidity, and varying plant temperatures. Required to wear appropriate PPE in accordance with plant safety standards.
