Florham Park, NJ Job Description The Maintenance Mechanic installs, maintains, and repairs industrial equipment and machinery in a heavy manufacturing environment. This role focuses on pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems, performing troubleshooting and preventative maintenance to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of production equipment. Responsibilities Install, build, and repair industrial equipment and machinery, including gear boxes, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Perform troubleshooting on pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems to diagnose issues and implement effective repairs. Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment, including lift trucks and cranes, following established procedures and safety standards. Operate lift trucks and cranes safely, adhering to rigging safety practices and participating in competency reviews as required. Read, comprehend, and apply information from repair manuals, charts, and other technical documentation. Utilize blueprints to understand equipment layout and assembly; ability to comprehend blueprints is considered a strong advantage. Identify and solve practical mechanical and equipment-related problems in a timely and efficient manner. Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and strong ownership of assigned tasks. Manage time effectively to complete maintenance work, repairs, and inspections within required deadlines. Maintain a high level of attention to detail when inspecting equipment, documenting work performed, and verifying repairs. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, promoting a safety-oriented culture in the maintenance area. Communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing, to coordinate with team members and document maintenance activities. Use basic computer skills to access documentation, record maintenance activities, and support communication needs as required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Union, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
