The Die Maintenance Technician applies knowledge of tool and die design and construction, shop mathematics, metal properties and layout, machining, and assembly procedures to repair and fabricate dies.
Responsibilities:
Maintains, troubleshoots, and debugs progressive die tooling. Repair of any problems. Capable to direct engineering changes, replacement parts, gauges and special tooling. Plans jobs and routes throughout shop working Performs in-process inspections. Must be able to troubleshoot and repair dies in press if needed Completes safety inspections on tools prior to sending to production. Installs tool sensors when applicable Provide Engineering expertise, direction and assistance as required in resolving tooling related problems. Assist in the development and the maintenance of tooling. Develops, proposes and implements tooling and equipment improvements to foster an environment of continuous improvement on the shop floor Must be able to keep accurate die maintenance records.
Experience:
One to five years experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience. Progressive die experience is also preferred. Summary As a Die Maintenance Technician/Tool Maker, you will be integral to the manufacturing process, focusing on the maintenance and repair of precision tooling and dies. Reporting to the Tool Room Supervisor, you will utilize your mechanical knowledge and expertise in die maintenance, schematics, and precision measuring instruments to ensure optimal performance and quality. Your premium skills in GD&T will enhance your ability to create and modify tooling designs. With a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency, you will contribute to the overall productivity and success of our operations.
