In this role, you will be responsible for constructing durable and aesthetically pleasing decks, ensuring they meet safety standards and client specifications. Your expertise in various building techniques and materials will help bring outdoor living spaces to life, contributing to high-quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute deck designs. Measure and mark dimensions using tape measures, levels, and other hand tools to ensure precise framing and layout. Erect metal building frameworks, including metal stud framing when applicable, to support deck structures. Install concrete forms for footings and supports, ensuring proper alignment and stability before pouring concrete. Perform rebar installation within concrete footings and slabs to reinforce structural integrity. Execute framing tasks such as trim carpentry, frame carpentry, and dimensional measurements for deck components. Operate power tools and heavy equipment safely to cut, shape, and assemble materials like wood, metal, siding, stucco, or masonry components. Install decking materials using appropriate fasteners while adhering to safety standards and project specifications. Conduct concrete finishing tasks including smoothing surfaces and applying sealants or protective coatings. Manage remodeling projects involving siding, roofing, plastering, or other exterior finishes as needed. Collaborate with team members and project managers to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards. Skills Extensive experience in construction site work with a focus on deck building or related trades such as carpentry or masonry. Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings or schematics for accurate project execution. Knowledge of metal building erection techniques and concrete forming processes. Skilled in rebar installation, concrete finishing, roofing, siding, stucco, and plastering techniques. Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently; experience with heavy equipment operation is a plus. Strong understanding of hand tools including tape measures, levels, saws, drills, and other carpentry tools. Familiarity with construction plans involving metal stud framing or remodeling plans for exterior or interior projects. Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to framing and material estimations. Experience with interpreting technical drawings such as schematics or blueprints related to construction plans. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper form; physical stamina is essential for this role. Knowledge of welding techniques applicable in metal framing or structural reinforcement tasks is advantageous.
