The ideal individual will demonstrate a high degree of mechanical proficiency and aptitude. They will also be meticulous and exacting regarding the quality of work they will require of themselves. They will often work independently and must be self-motivated. They should enjoy learning new skills along with intricate and precise projects. Experience in a field with precision equipment such as the carding machines used in our operation is highly desirable. This is a skilled position and will report to the Maintenance Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
[basic job duties that employee must be able to perform with or without accommodation] 1. Employee does simple machining, plumbing, and carpentry 2. Perform detailed inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on various industrial machines and equipment. 3. Conduct preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication, adjustments, and parts replacement. 4. Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues. 5. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations during maintenance and repair activities. 6. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and time spent on each task. 7. Assist in the training and development of junior mechanics and apprentices. 8. Keep up to date with the latest industry standards, tools, and techniques to maintain high-quality service. 9. Collaborate with other team members and departments to schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks. 10. Order and manage inventory of spare parts and supplies as needed. 11. Provide emergency repair services when necessary, including on-call duties as required. WORKING CONDITIONS 1.
Extreme heat may be experienced in summer within factory and distribution center working spaces. 2. Must be able to navigate stairwells, catwalks, and significant walking between work projects. 3. Some work may be held outdoors, which is subject to a variety of weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, etc.).
