Facilities Custodial Technician
Job Description
Job Overview Job Summary:
The Facilities Custodial Technician ensures a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment for employees and visitors. This role requires proactive cleaning, basic maintenance, and strict adherence to safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment. Full-time position. Working hours are 7:00am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday.

General Cleaning:
o Plant floor
Cleaning:
Sweep, vacuum, dust, and wash floors, walls, windows, and doors. o
Outside Plant Cleaning:
pallet and scrap dumpster cleaning, organizing obsolete equipment and fixture storage, as well as utility rooms

General Repairs:
Fixing, repairing, or replacing building fixtures such as lighting, doors, furniture, walls, and flooring.

Physical Stamina:
Capable of lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, and standing for long periods.
• Drywall, painting, and carpentry repairs .
•
Equipment Care:
Safely operate Max Vac, Sit down floor scrubber, dry ice blaster and push scrubber, clean, and maintain custodial equipment (buffers, vacuums) according to manufacturer guidelines

Safety & Compliance:
Immediately clean spills, address hazardous conditions, and follow all safety protocols, including using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Special Projects/Events:
Set up and break down furniture for meetings or events, and perform deep cleaning as needed. Required Skills and Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience in commercial cleaning, custodial work, or building maintenance. Knowledge of cleaning chemical safety and proper use (SDS). Ability to operate janitorial machinery (e.g., floor scrubbers, vacuums). Physical stamina to lift heavy objects (often 30-50+ lbs), stand, walk, bend, and climb ladders for long periods. Ability to work independently or with a team. Proven custodial or janitorial experience with a strong understanding of commercial cleaning practices. Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners. Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and sanitation standards. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safe lifting practices. Experience with facilities maintenance tasks including minor repairs or painting is preferred. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for maintaining cleanliness logs and safety documentation. Prior experience in industrial cleaning or porter roles is advantageous; customer service skills are highly valued. Pay:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
