As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in keeping our frac sand processing facility running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. By executing preventive maintenance, resolving mechanical and electrical challenges, and contributing to ongoing optimization projects, you will help us minimize operational interruptions and reach our production goals. Primary Duties Equipment Maintenance & Repair Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks on facility machinery such as screens, conveyors, dryers, pumps, compressors, and hydraulic units. Identify and rectify mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical malfunctions to restore system functionality. Examine machinery for signs of damage, wear, or misalignment to proactively replace components. Help maintain operational longevity by adhering to lubrication protocols for gearboxes, bearings, and rotating systems. Troubleshooting & Technical Support Minimize production delays by providing rapid response to equipment failures. Work alongside supervisors and operators to identify and eliminate the root causes of persistent technical problems. Safety & Compliance Promote a culture of safety by strictly adhering to MSHA guidelines, lockout/tagout protocols, and internal plant policies. Contribute to a safer workplace for the entire team by engaging in hazard assessments, safety briefings, and site inspections. Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization within all work areas. Documentation & Reporting Accurately record maintenance activities, parts consumption, and completed work orders. Support the management of spare parts inventory and essential supplies. Offer insights on machinery performance to help drive future operational improvements. Project & Improvement Work Assist in the successful installation, alignment, and commissioning of new facility assets. Contribute to reliability projects, plant modifications, and system upgrades. Coordinate effectively with external vendors and contractors during project execution. Qualifications Required Proven background in industrial, manufacturing, or mining maintenance settings. Demonstrate strong mechanical proficiency by repairing pumps, motors, conveyors, and other rotating equipment. Possess foundational electrical skills, including experience with VFDs, sensors, motors, and basic troubleshooting. Interpret mechanical schematics and technical equipment documentation with ease. Maintain the physical stamina required to perform tasks in dusty, outdoor, and demanding environments. Preferred Prior experience working within frac sand, mining, or aggregate processing facilities. Proficiency in fabrication and welding techniques, including cutting torches and stick welding. Familiarity with automated systems and PLC operations. Current MSHA certification or the ability to acquire it. Work Environment Availability for 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and rotating schedules. Regular exposure to heavy machinery, noise, heat, and dust. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
