Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, alignment checks, shocks & struts replacement, and HVAC system servicing. Fabricate parts or modify equipment using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs. Interpret technical schematics and mechanical diagrams to troubleshoot complex issues across various vehicle systems. Assist with assembly of new equipment or components ensuring proper fitment and safety standards are met. Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed and parts used to ensure compliance with safety regulations and warranty requirements. Skills Proven dealership or heavy equipment mechanic experience with strong mechanical knowledge across automotive repair and industrial equipment Skilled in automotive diagnostics, electrical system repair, hydraulics, suspensions, transmissions, brake systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures. Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and other maintenance apparatus for equipment repair or fabrication tasks. Ability to read schematics accurately for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues on heavy trucks or industrial machinery. Knowledge of Cummins or other major heavy equipment brands is a plus; familiarity with vehicle systems for truck drivers is highly valued.
