We are currently searching for a fleet maintenance mechanic for our Hyattsville, MD location. Under general supervision of our Asset Manager, the Technician performs preventive maintenance services, inspects, diagnoses, and repairs vehicles and equipment to ensure their optimal performance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned: Works under limited supervision, using written instructions and established procedures to complete assigned tasks. Performs vehicle and equipment repairs and preventive maintenance services. Inspects, diagnoses, and repairs electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment. Uses vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs. Estimates time and material costs for repairs and requisitions new parts. Performs all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs). Provides service calls for emergency breakdowns and repairs. Conducts safety checks on vehicles to ensure compliance with safety standards. Completes required paperwork using fleet maintenance software, including repair documentation, parts usage, and repair times. Assists senior mechanics with project work as needed. Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs listed in Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. Maintains a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA standards. Adheres to established safety procedures during all work activities. Qualifications The qualifications listed below represent the necessary criteria for performing the job:

No formal education required.
Experience :
A minimum of two (3) years of relevant work experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must be at least 18 years of age. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Must pass pre-employment drug screening and physical examination. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required None specifically required, though mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills are beneficial. Work Environment The work environment includes the following conditions: Requires frequent use of motor coordination, including finger dexterity (e.g., keyboarding, machine operation) throughout the day. Regularly requires physical effort in handling objects of less than a specified weight (insert weight). Frequently exposed to physical risks, including cuts, burns, and exposure to toxic chemicals. Often exposed to environmental elements such as dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar conditions. The normal setting for this job is a repair/maintenance shop.
