Primary Purpose:
Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and managing the District's video software and camera system for transportation to ensure safe and efficient transportation services.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Valid CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements or willing to get within 90 days Completion of 20-hour School Bus Driver Certification Class High School Diploma or GED Ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical/drug test
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Working knowledge of bus video equipment Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data Ability to multi-task Understanding of basic video and radio operation Knowledge of federal, state and board policy as related to transportation Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to work well with staff, visitors, and community members Basic desktop computer knowledge
Experience:
Two years of experience working with electronic equipment diagnosis and repair, preferred with a history of strong student management skills
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Bus Video and Radio Systems 1. Work with bus video and radio systems to review and maintain cameras and radios on buses. 2. Maintain accurate inventory and records information pertaining to video and radio systems. 3. Prepare and maintain video library for video requests in accordance with FERPA regulations. 4. Retrieve video footage as requested and perform spot checks. 5. Test and perform minor repairs to video, GPS, and other equipment on buses. 6. Work with vendors to troubleshoot equipment issues. 7. Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for video, radio, GPS, and back-up camera systems. 8. Maintain a yearly back-up of video files. Communication 9. Serve as liaison with campuses and communicate effectively with school administrators. 10. Inform management of any irregularities in the video/electronic systems. Bus Conduct Management 11. Maintain Transportation database for Bus Conduct Software and its users. 12. Process all student referrals and Behavior forms from Bus Conduct Software. 13. Coordinate annual training / new hire training and driver retaining for bus conduct. 14. Coordinate monthly student management meetings. 15. Serve as primary contact between campus administrators for student behavior on buses. 16. Coordinate with video team on all video requests. Other 17. Stay informed regarding new technology in the video/audio field. 18. Assist in budget planning and purchasing of video, radio, GPS, and back-up camera equipment. 19. Serve as substitute bus driver, including being available for morning and afternoon routes as needed and requested by supervisor(s). 20. Other duties as assigned.
