Role:
Shift from physical labor to diagnostic expertise: you'll be the shop's technical lead for transmission diagnostics, setting the standard for workflow and quality in the back bay. This is a hands-on, brain-first role focused on accurately diagnosing complex transmission issues and delivering timely, reliable outcomes.
What You'll Do :
  • Diagnose 5-10 vehicles per day, using systematic inspection, road tests, and advanced scan/test tools to identify transmission faults and root causes.
  • Execute targeted repairs when required, balancing speed with exacting standards to restore drivability and reliability.
  • Set and maintain a high standard for workflow and documentation in the shop—create repeatable, efficient processes that reduce rework.
  • Maintain accurate records of diagnostics, tests performed, and parts recommended to ensure traceability and quality control.
  • Stay current with transmission systems, updates, and specialized repair methods across makes and models.
What We're Looking For:
  • Proven mastery in transmission diagnosis and repair; demonstrable history of solving complex transmission problems across multiple makes (Ford, Chrysler, GM preferred).
  • Confident, independent problem-solver who prefers focused, deep technical work and owns outcomes from start to finish.
  • Methodical and disciplined: you build reliable processes, follow diagnostic steps precisely, and produce consistent results under pressure.
  • High stamina and commitment: able to maintain throughput and quality across a steady daily volume of vehicles.
  • Continuous learner attitude—open to new techniques, eager to refine skills, and receptive to technical training.
  • Calm under time pressure and customer expectations; communicates findings clearly and professionally.
  • ASE certification or equivalent technical credentials and shop experience preferred.
Benefits :
  • Competitive pay commensurate with experience, plus opportunities for advancement and paid training.
  • Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance.
  • 401(k) matching, paid time off, paid sick time, tuition reimbursement, and employee discounts.
  • Supportive shop culture that values precision, ownership, and continuous improvement.
