Job Description

Support complex substation projects with real client and field impact Visibility and ownership on projects with growth track to leadership About Our Client The client is a leading energy provider supporting critical power infrastructure projects across high‑ and extra‑high‑voltage systems. Job Description Develop and maintain detailed substation design drawings and construction packages, including: General Arrangement Drawings Equipment Layout Plans Elevations and Section Views Grounding and Lightning Protection Plans Conduit and Raceway Layouts Electrical Connections and Equipment Details Below-Grade Conduit/Routing Plans Control Building Layouts, Lighting Plans, Cable Tray Designs, and Grounding Systems Bills of Materials and Equipment Lists Collaborate with engineers and project stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements, industry standards, and client specifications MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant Education/Experience Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of substation physical design experience. An Associate's Degree in Drafting, or a high school diploma and 2 or more years drafting course work or equivalent technical experience. Proficient with AutoCAD and MicroStation. Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer.
Valued Knowledge/Skills:
An Associate's Degree in Computer Aided Design. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design. Overtime paid at 1.5x, with strong potential for additional hours during peak project phases.
