Job Description

Power Solutions Group, a Sunbelt Solomon company, is a trusted leader in electrical power system testing, commissioning, maintenance, and engineering services. As part of one of the nation's largest power distribution organizations, we support customers across utilities, power generation, manufacturing, data centers, commercial facilities, and renewable energy. We are seeking a Field Service Engineer with strong electrical and/or mechanical aptitude who enjoy solving complex problems, working independently, and providing exceptional customer service. This position offers a high degree of variety and autonomy, along with hands-on experience working with electrical power distribution systems throughout the Northeast. Perform on-site maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical power distribution equipment.

Conduct protective relay testing independently and as part of a team.

Manage engineering and field service projects ranging from smaller assignments to large-scale customer initiatives.

Apply engineering principles, applicable codes, and industry standards to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective electrical systems.

Provide technical support, quality control, project documentation, and reporting.

Read, interpret, and analyze power system wiring diagrams, including DC elementary drawings.

Apply a strong theoretical understanding of electricity to diagnose issues and develop practical solutions.

Coordinate work at customer sites and resolve technical or operational issues as they arise.

Communicate effectively and professionally with customers, coworkers, and leadership.

Maintain a strong focus on customer service, follow-up, organization, and time management.

Follow all electrical safety procedures and actively promote a safe work environment.

Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, with occasional overnight travel.
