We are seeking a highly experienced CNC Field Service Engineer to join our team. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for a technician with at least five years of hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining CNC machine tools in customer-facing environments. Candidates whose experience is limited to machine operation, setup, or programming without machine repair and service responsibilities will not be considered. If you've spent years troubleshooting complex machine issues, working independently at customer sites, and earning customer trust through technical expertise, we want to hear from you. Position Summary As a Senior CNC Field Service Engineer, you will serve as a technical expert for TARUS customers, performing advanced diagnostics, repairs, commissioning, and preventative maintenance on CNC machine tools. You will work independently, lead service visits, and collaborate with engineering and service teams to resolve complex technical issues. What You'll Do Independently diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC control issues at customer sites. Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of CNC control systems, including Siemens 840D, SINUMERIK ONE, and Heidenhain platforms. Lead on-site service visits with minimal supervision. Perform machine installations, commissioning, calibration, repairs, and preventative maintenance. Analyze machine performance and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability and uptime. Document service activities, technical findings, and corrective actions in detailed service reports. Contribute technical knowledge and best practices to the service organization. Serve as a trusted technical advisor and professional representative of TARUS at customer facilities. Travel Up to 25% domestic travel with occasional international travel. Overnight travel required based on customer location and service needs. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of hands-on field service experience repairing CNC machine tools or precision industrial equipment. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Experience diagnosing and repairing CNC control systems. Hands-on experience with Siemens 840D, SINUMERIK ONE, Heidenhain, Fanuc, or similar CNC platforms. Proven ability to work independently and manage service calls with minimal supervision. Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation. Strong written communication and documentation skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications Experience with large-format CNC machine tools. Experience with 5-axis machining centers. Previous experience with TARUS equipment. Background with machine tool builders, machine tool distributors, CNC retrofit companies, or industrial automation organizations. Why Join TARUS?
