Full-Time About the Role Are you mechanically inclined, good with people, and naturally good at troubleshooting and figuring out how things work? We're looking for a Technical Service Technician to join a manufacturing team in Gurnee, IL. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in field service, maintenance, mechanical repair, automotive, HVAC, machine assembly, manufacturing, equipment repair, technical support, parts, or customer service who wants to build their technical skills and learn industrial equipment. You do not need previous experience with this specific equipment. In this role, you'll help customers troubleshoot equipment, identify replacement parts and repairs, answer technical questions, prepare quotes, and occasionally assist with hands-on equipment service and startups. We're open to candidates coming from backgrounds such as Field Service Technician, Maintenance Technician, Mechanical Technician, Service Technician, Equipment Technician, Machine Builder, Mechanical Assembler, Automotive Technician, HVAC Technician, Industrial Maintenance, Parts Specialist, Technical Support, or technical Customer Service. If you're mechanically inclined, comfortable using tools, and can look at a drawing, manual, or piece of equipment and start figuring out what could be causing the problem, we want to talk to you. What You'll Do Help customers troubleshoot mechanical and industrial equipment by phone and email Ask questions to diagnose equipment issues and determine possible solutions Use blueprints, drawings, diagrams, manuals, and technical information to troubleshoot problems Help customers identify replacement parts, repairs, and service needs Prepare quotes for parts, repairs, equipment, and service Provide customers with pricing, product information, and lead times Create sales orders, job orders, and bills of materials Recommend appropriate parts, repairs, or service based on customer needs Assist with assembly, disassembly, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and mechanical seals Occasionally travel to customer locations for equipment startups, repairs, or service Work with Sales, Engineering, Production, and Service to resolve customer issues What We're Looking For Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in how equipment works Experience with mechanical equipment, maintenance, repair, assembly, manufacturing, automotive, HVAC, or another hands-on environment Troubleshooting or problem-solving experience Ability to read or learn to read blueprints, diagrams, schematics, or equipment manuals Comfortable working with hand and power tools Strong customer service and communication skills Comfortable troubleshooting problems with customers over the phone Willingness to learn industrial equipment, pumps, mechanical seals, and related products Ability to occasionally travel for customer service calls
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
