Job Description

Job Responsibilities:
The Field Operations Technician is a position that primarily includes fixing water leaks, breaks, setting new water services, Leak Detection/sounding meters, GIS mapping, Line Locates (811), Flushing, Valve Exercising, and weed eating around all valves, all other duties assigned. Flexibility to work overtime and weekends. In the future, this position may include working as an on-call person as part of the rotation with other employees. Also, any other duties as assigned by Field Operation Manager or General Manager.
Desirable Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
A Field Operations Technician should be willing and open to learning routes, roads and waterline system thoroughly. This individual should demonstrate the ability to interact with customers, the understanding of water systems/leaks and the ability to inform the supervisor of suspected leaks or any issues in the district.
Desirable Education/Qualification:
Desirable education and/or qualifications include high school diploma/ GED. A valid driver's license. Ability to work independently with varying amounts of supervision. Must pass background check and have good references.
Physical Demand:
General labor, use required tools for the job, must be able to lift up to 100 lbs., ability to walk long distances, sit, kneel, stand multiple times in a day's time, work in any and all-weather (HOT, COLD) conditions and a variety of terrains (MUD).
Work Environment:
