Job Summary:
The Rapid Group is seeking a skilled Field Technician to troubleshoot, diagnose, disassemble, evaluate, and repair wastewater pumps, booster pumps, and other rotating equipment at customer locations. This field-based role is hands-on and essential to ensuring operational reliability for our municipal, industrial, and commercial clients. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience with pumps and rotating equipment, and the ability to provide quality service directly in the field.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform field testing, inspection, equipment startups, and operating performance evaluations on centrifugal and positive displacement pumps. Replace packing, mechanical seals, bearings, and components in pumps, motors, blowers, generators, and related equipment. Conduct precision alignment of motors and pumps. Troubleshoot, diagnose, disassemble, and repair rotating equipment including pumps, motors, and mechanical systems. Evaluate pump systems to determine cause of failure, equipment condition, and necessary repairs. Assist with removal and reinstallation of pumps and equipment at customer sites. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on customer equipment. Document detailed information on work orders including pump data, motor data, failure analysis, required parts, and service notes. Follow job site safety standards and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
Qualifications:
Experience troubleshooting and repairing pumps, motors, or rotating equipment preferred. Ability to replace seals, bearings, packing, and mechanical components. Familiarity with preventative maintenance and field service repair processes. Experience using a CRM or service database preferred. Knowledge of OSHA job site safety requirements. Valid driver's license required for fieldbased work. Mandatory preemployment drug screening & Background check. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability. Ability to work independently at customer sites. Excellent documentation and communication skills. Professional, reliable, and customerservice oriented.
