Field Service Technician - Job Description Tecogen Field Service Technicians work on our energy-efficient line of stationary engines and assist with territory operations.
This position provides the opportunity to work for one of the largest cogeneration companies in the area, providing combined heat and power as well as cooling to our customers. The successful applicant will report to the Field Service Supervisor.

Field Service Technician Responsibilities:
Assist in scheduled maintenance tasks for assigned territory clients
Develop the appropriate procedures for logging work in compliance with established guidelines
Takes ownership of company assigned tools
Works directly with an assigned and experienced service technician for mandatory training including but not limited to, o Client specifications o Different types of generators in place on client site(s) o Intermediate knowledge of refrigeration cycle o Intermediate knowledge of electronic circuits o Intermediate knowledge of engine diagnostics o Intermediate knowledge of engine repair o Perform on-site and shop maintenance and cleaning of systems (HX flush, punch tubes, etc.
) o Perform minor electrical and sensor repairs to field equipment o Begin to work on minor Schedule A and B maintenance on equipment (oil changes, leaks, hoses, etc.) o Assist other Technicians on major engine work to aid in training o Takes full ownership of assigned company provided tools o Assists coworkers with necessary on-site housekeeping and/or organization of warehouse area o Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of company issued vehicle, either solely or in partnership with other assigned high level technician o Responsible for safety protocols to assigned jobs o All other duties as assigned
Field Service Technician Qualifications:
Previous experience as Apprentice Field Service Technician preferred
Clean and valid driver's license (operates company supplied vehicle)
Ability to read and follow manuals, electrical, and mechanical diagrams
Trade school certificaiton in Mechanics preferred
Motivation to become self-sufficient and educated on Tecogen products and troubleshooting techniques
Ability to be flexible with changing daily priorities in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements:
Driving company vehicle
Constant sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds
Client sites may vary
Frequent exposure to varying weather conditions
Schedule:
8-hour shift
Day shift
Monday to Friday
Overtime Eligible
On Call Rotation Participation (where applicable based on territory)

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
