Per completed service/job + sales commissions Opportunity Overview Dog Fence of America and It Happens! Pet Waste Removal are seeking an independent contractor to provide field services and support new customer growth throughout Northern Virginia. This opportunity combines pet waste removal services, underground pet fence installation and service, customer interaction, and sales/business development . The contractor will be compensated primarily based on completed services and installations rather than a fixed hourly schedule. Additional earning opportunities are available for generating and/or closing new business. Services are performed throughout Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William Counties . The contractor will generally have flexibility in determining how accepted assignments are completed, including route sequencing and work times, subject to customer appointments, agreed service windows, safety requirements, and service standards. There is no guarantee of a minimum number of assignments, hours, or compensation. Scope of ServicesIt Happens! Pet Waste Removal Available assignments may include: Residential pet waste removal. Weekly and bi-weekly recurring yard services. One-time and initial property cleanups. Commercial pet waste removal. Servicing pet waste stations at apartment communities, HOAs, parks, office properties, and other commercial locations. Restocking waste bags and related supplies when required. Communicating with customers regarding property access, service conditions, and service-related matters. Documenting completed services when necessary. The contractor is responsible for providing completed services consistent with established customer commitments and quality standards but generally determines the manner, sequencing, and routing used to complete accepted assignments. Dog Fence of America Available assignments may include: Underground/electronic pet fence installations. Installation of underground boundary wire and associated equipment. System setup and testing. Troubleshooting existing systems. Fence repair and service calls. Customer orientation regarding operation and use of installed systems. Other installation or service work agreed upon between the contractor and company. Installation and service assignments may have scheduled customer appointment windows. Outside of customer requirements and agreed completion expectations, the contractor generally determines the means and methods used to complete the work consistent with manufacturer requirements, safety standards, and applicable installation specifications. Sales & Business Development Opportunities In addition to field-service compensation, the contractor has the opportunity to earn additional compensation by generating and closing new business for both companies.

New weekly pet waste removal memberships. New bi-weekly pet waste removal memberships. Underground pet fence installations. Fence service and repair opportunities. Commercial pet waste removal accounts. HOA and property management opportunities. Customer referrals. Cross-selling services between Dog Fence of America and It Happens! Pet Waste Removal. The contractor may identify potential customers while performing field services or independently generate leads throughout the Northern Virginia service area. Contractors who actively develop their own customer opportunities have the potential to significantly increase their overall compensation. Field Service Compensation Compensation is primarily based on completed services and assignments rather than hours worked.
Residential Pet Waste Removal Weekly Service:
$8 per completed yard
Bi-weekly Service:
$10 per completed yard
One-Time Deep Clean:
$20 per hour Commercial Pet Waste Removal Compensation is generally based on property size and scope:
Small Property:
$45 per completed visit
Medium Property:
$80 per completed visit
Large Property:
$120 per completed visit One-Time Clean /
Setup:
$20 per hour Commercial compensation may vary depending upon property size, number of service areas, service frequency, number of pet waste stations, disposal requirements, restocking requirements, and other relevant factors.
Underground Pet Fence Services Completed Fence Installation:
Generally $250 per completed installation, subject to adjustment based upon job size and scope. Service Calls /
Repairs:
Compensation determined based upon the specific assignment and generally equivalent to approximately $20 per hour. Compensation for an assignment will be communicated and agreed upon before the contractor accepts the applicable work. Sales Commission Structure Sales commissions are paid in addition to compensation earned for performing the associated field service or installation , when applicable. Recurring Residential Pet Waste Removal The contractor will earn a: $25 sales commission for each new recurring residential pet waste removal customer directly generated and/or closed by the contractor. The customer must enroll in an eligible recurring weekly or bi-weekly service plan. The $25 commission becomes earned after the new customer completes and pays for their first full month of recurring service .
Example:
The contractor signs up a new customer for weekly pet waste removal. The customer receives weekly service for their first month and pays the applicable charges for that month. Once the first month has been completed and paid, the contractor earns the $25 new-customer sales commission . One-time cleanups that do not convert to recurring service do not qualify for the $25 recurring-customer commission. Recurring Commercial Pet Waste Removal Sales commissions for new recurring commercial accounts will vary based upon the size, frequency, scope, contract value, and expected value of the account . The applicable commission will be communicated and agreed upon for the specific commercial opportunity.
Qualifying commercial opportunities may include:
Apartment communities. Homeowners associations. Property management companies. Office properties. Parks and common areas. Other commercial or multi-property pet waste service accounts. Underground Pet Fence Customers The contractor will earn a: $250 sales commission for each qualifying new underground pet fence installation customer directly generated and/or closed by the contractor. The sales commission is separate from compensation for performing the actual installation. Therefore, a contractor who both generates/closes the customer and completes the installation may earn compensation for both activities.
Example:
The contractor generates a new underground pet fence customer and successfully closes the installation. The contractor then performs the installation.
The contractor may earn:
$250 Sales Commission + $250 Installation Compensation = $500 Total Compensation Installation compensation may vary for unusually large, small, or complex installations. The $250 sales commission becomes earned once the qualifying customer has entered into the applicable installation agreement, made the required customer payment or deposit, and the installation proceeds as scheduled. Sales Commission Eligibility Sales commissions are intended to reward contractors who directly contribute to the growth of Dog Fence of America and It Happens! Pet Waste Removal.
To qualify for a commission:
The contractor must directly generate the new customer or otherwise be the qualifying sales source responsible for closing the opportunity. The customer must represent qualifying new business. Residential scooping commissions apply only to new recurring customers who complete and pay for their first full month of recurring service. Commercial account commissions are determined based upon the scope and value of the individual account. Fence sales commissions apply to qualifying new underground pet fence installation customers. Commissions generally do not apply to customers or qualified leads already actively being pursued by the company unless otherwise agreed. Situations involving multiple sales sources, shared sales efforts, cancellations, refunds, or unusual circumstances will be addressed based upon the individual opportunity. There is no set limit on the number of qualifying sales commissions a contractor may earn. Scheduling & Assignment Flexibility This opportunity does not involve a guaranteed work schedule or minimum number of hours. Available service and installation opportunities may be offered to the contractor based upon customer demand, geography, contractor availability, and other business considerations. The contractor may accept or decline offered assignments. Once an assignment is accepted, the contractor is responsible for completing the agreed service consistent with customer commitments and applicable service standards. Subject to customer appointment times and agreed service windows, the contractor generally controls: The order in which accepted service locations are completed. Route planning. Start and completion times. Breaks and other personal scheduling decisions. The manner and methods used to efficiently complete the services. The contractor is responsible for communicating availability so that assignments can be offered appropriately. Transportation & Expenses The contractor must provide and maintain their own reliable transportation suitable for traveling throughout Northern Virginia and performing accepted services. The contractor is generally responsible for ordinary transportation and vehicle expenses associated with providing services. Additional mileage or travel compensation may be offered for certain assignments involving substantial or unusual travel. Any such compensation will be communicated prior to acceptance of the assignment. The contractor is responsible for maintaining any driver's license, automobile insurance, registration, or other requirements applicable to their vehicle and transportation. Tools & Equipment The contractor should provide ordinary personal items necessary to perform independent field work, including a reliable vehicle and smartphone. Dog Fence of America and/or It Happens! Pet Waste Removal may make available specialized equipment, proprietary equipment, branded materials, customer-specific supplies, or other materials necessary to complete particular assignments. Use of company-provided specialized equipment or materials does not alter the independent nature of the contractor relationship. Contractor Qualifications A successful contractor should: Have reliable transportation. Maintain a valid driver's license and appropriate automobile insurance. Be comfortable traveling throughout Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William Counties. Be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Be comfortable working around dogs of different breeds and sizes. Have strong customer-service and communication skills. Be dependable when accepting customer assignments. Be comfortable using basic hand and power tools. Be capable of learning underground pet fence installation, troubleshooting, and repair procedures. Be comfortable speaking with prospective customers and identifying potential sales opportunities. Have a smartphone capable of supporting navigation, customer communication, scheduling, and service documentation. Be physically capable of safely completing accepted field-service assignments. Experience with field service, landscaping, lawn care, pest control, utility installation, cable installation, construction, home services, route-based businesses, pet services, or outside sales can be helpful but is not required. Independent Contractor Relationship The parties intend for services to be performed on an independent contractor basis . The contractor is not guaranteed any minimum number of assignments, hours, or amount of compensation. The contractor generally controls when they are available to accept assignments and may accept or decline offered work. Nothing in this opportunity is intended to prohibit the contractor from providing services to other businesses or customers, provided doing so does not interfere with accepted customer commitments or misuse confidential or proprietary information. The contractor is responsible for applicable federal, state, and local taxes and other obligations associated with independent contractor status. The contractor is not eligible for employee benefits such as paid vacation, paid sick leave, health insurance, retirement benefits, or other employee benefit programs solely by virtue of performing contracted services. The specific terms of the relationship will be governed by a separate Independent Contractor Agreement .
