Position Overview Hunter Security & Surveillance Systems is seeking a dependable and technically minded Security & Surveillance Installation & Service Technician to join our Southern Wisconsin team. This position will primarily serve customers throughout the Milwaukee-to-Janesville corridor , including surrounding communities. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and service a variety of security and surveillance systems at commercial, industrial, and residential locations. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys troubleshooting technical problems, takes pride in quality workmanship, and provides professional customer service. Training is available for candidates who have a solid technical foundation and a willingness to learn. Key Responsibilities Install, dismantle, service, test, and maintain security systems, CCTV/video surveillance, fire detection, and card access systems. Read and interpret electrical drawings, technical documentation, blueprints, and building plans. Troubleshoot installation and system performance issues and implement effective solutions. Configure and support networking equipment and IP-based video surveillance systems. Respond to service tickets using a laptop or computer and document work accurately. Record service hours, mileage, materials, and work completed. Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and company leadership. Participate in project coordination calls and provide updates as needed. Educate customers on system operation and provide ongoing technical support. Perform routine system inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance. Maintain company-provided tools, equipment, vehicle, and technology. Follow company procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards. Travel throughout the assigned Southern Wisconsin territory as needed. Qualifications At least one year of installation experience required; security, surveillance, or low-voltage experience preferred. Associate degree in a related technical field or equivalent hands-on work experience preferred. Basic understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and technical troubleshooting. Familiarity with networking and IP video systems is a plus; training is available. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize service calls. Dependable, professional, and willing to learn new technologies. Valid driver's license required. Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory, with occasional overnight stays as needed.
