Overview Join our dynamic team as a Shop Technician and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy equipment, construction machinery, and Asphalt equipment This energetic role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge machinery. As a Shop Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on heavy equipment, including diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC components. Conduct repairs and maintenance on construction machinery, and Asphalt equipment. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, schematics, and diagnostic software to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical or electrical issues. Service and repair various types of construction and asphalt equipment. Operate heavy machinery such as construction and asphalt equipment during maintenance or testing procedures while adhering to safety protocols. Assist with assembly, disassembly, welding, and fabrication tasks to restore or enhance equipment functionality. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, inspection reports, and ensure all repairs meet safety standards. Qualifications Proven experience working within a dealership or heavy equipment service environments. Strong mechanical knowledge of construction, and asphalt machinery maintenance and diagnostics. Basic computer skills for work orders, time entry, and email; comfortable with tablets or laptops in the shop Proficient using OEM/service diagnostic software, code readers, and laptop/scan tools Hands-on experience with heavy equipment repair and troubleshooting techniques including welding and A/C repair. Proven ability to independently diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy equipment (not just parts changing) Familiarity with electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine diagnostics. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems like hydraulics or electrical circuits. Good communication skills for working with the service manager, parts department, and occasionally customers. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate power tools effectively. Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
