We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a vital member of our operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy equipment, including industrial machinery, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and a passion for working with their hands.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including trucks, trailers, and industrial machinery
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with engines, transmissions, brakes, and other systems
Use hand tools and specialized equipment to complete tasks efficiently and safely
Ensure all work is done to the highest standards, following safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines
Work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
Collaborate with other team members to complete projects and meet customer needs
Stay up-to-date with the latest technology and industry developments, participating in ongoing training and professional development
Skills:
Experience in diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance
Strong knowledge of automotive and industrial equipment repair
Proficiency with hand tools and basic shop equipment
Familiarity with air brake systems and ability to diagnose and repair issues
Ability to work on tractor-trailers and other large vehicles
Experience in a dealership or similar setting
Knowledge of transmission systems and ability to diagnose and repair issues
Ability to transmit mechanical information to other team members
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction
