Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a vital member of our operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy equipment, including industrial machinery, forklifts, and tractor-trailers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and a passion for working with their hands.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including trucks, trailers, and industrial machinery
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with engines, transmissions, brakes, and other systems
  • Use hand tools and specialized equipment to complete tasks efficiently and safely
  • Ensure all work is done to the highest standards, following safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
  • Collaborate with other team members to complete projects and meet customer needs
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology and industry developments, participating in ongoing training and professional development
Skills:
  • Experience in diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of automotive and industrial equipment repair
  • Proficiency with hand tools and basic shop equipment
  • Familiarity with air brake systems and ability to diagnose and repair issues
  • Ability to work on tractor-trailers and other large vehicles
  • Experience in a dealership or similar setting
  • Knowledge of transmission systems and ability to diagnose and repair issues
  • Ability to transmit mechanical information to other team members
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction
