Job Description

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Mobile Mechanic to maintain and repair mobile equipment supporting our manufacturing operations. In this safety-focused role, you'll diagnose and service loaders, trucks, and support vehicles in the field and on-site. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems, completing service records, and supporting reliability improvements. You'll work closely with operations in a collaborative, performance-driven environment with opportunities to grow your technical skills and advance your career. Responsibilities Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mobile equipment (loaders, haul trucks, service trucks) used in manufacturing operations Conduct regular inspections, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life Respond to equipment breakdowns in the field and on-site, safely isolating and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts usage in accordance with company and regulatory standards Collaborate with plant operations, dispatch, and supervisors to prioritize work and schedule repairs with minimal production disruption Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental standards while maintaining a clean, organized work area Assist with equipment upgrades, component replacements, and reliability improvements to increase fleet performance Communicate clearly with operators about equipment condition, safe operation practices, and upcoming maintenance needs Required Skills Mobile equipment repair Diesel engine diagnostics Hydraulic systems Pneumatic systems Basic electrical troubleshooting Preventive maintenance Equipment inspections Reading technical manuals and schematics Use of diagnostic tools and meters Maintenance recordkeeping
