Heidelberg Materials is hiring a Mobile Mechanic to maintain and repair mobile equipment used in the manufacturing and delivery of construction materials. In this field-based role, you'll diagnose and fix mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues on trucks and heavy equipment across sites, performing preventive maintenance and responding to breakdowns to keep operations running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Perform diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on mobile heavy equipment and vehicles at various Heidelberg Materials sites Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, and adjustments to ensure safe, reliable operation of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems Respond to field service calls to troubleshoot breakdowns, minimize downtime, and document work performed Follow all company and regulatory safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and proper use of PPEMaintain accurate service records, parts usage, and inspection reports using company systems Communicate equipment status, repair needs, and recommendations with supervisors, operators, and maintenance planners Operate service truck, tools, and equipment safely and keep mobile workshop organized and compliant Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and suggesting maintenance or reliability enhancements Required Skills Heavy equipment maintenance Diesel engine repair Hydraulic systems troubleshooting Basic electrical diagnostics Preventive maintenance Welding and fabrication Use of diagnostic tools and software Reading technical manuals and schematics Safety and lockout/tagout procedures Maintenance documentation and reporting
