Job Description

Located in a region where agriculture and aquaculture are vital to the economy, the parish's operational departments play a crucial role in ensuring efficient public works services. Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Public Works Equipment Operator III to join our team in the Stephensville/Belle River area. This energetic role involves operating a variety of heavy equipment to support construction, maintenance, and infrastructure projects across the parish. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical knowledge, experience with heavy machinery, and a passion for contributing to community development. Duties Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, tractors, dump trucks, etc. to execute construction and maintenance projects. Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards. Perform tasks using heavy equipment, such as excavators, to move and handle earth, rock, sand and other large materials. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to complete tasks on schedule and within specifications. Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance logs, and project progress reports. Mechanical knowledge sufficient for routine troubleshooting and minor repairs of construction equipment. Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and construction environments. Strong work ethic with the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Pay:
$16.21 per hour
