Job Description

Field Heavy Equipment Mechanic Triangle Grading and Paving, Inc. is looking for an experienced Field Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team and help keep our construction equipment operating safely, reliably, and efficiently. This position is ideal for a hands-on mechanic who enjoys working in the field, diagnosing problems, and getting equipment back to work. Our fleet includes heavy construction equipment used for grading, paving, excavation, and site development. Job Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment in the field and shop. Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment. Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, steering, and drivetrain components. Service and repair equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, skid steers, rollers, pavers, and other construction equipment. Respond to equipment breakdowns at active construction sites and make repairs as efficiently as possible. Use diagnostic equipment, service manuals, and technical resources to identify and correct problems. Inspect equipment for safety issues and recommend necessary repairs. Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, parts, and labor. Communicate with supervisors and equipment operators regarding equipment condition and repair needs. Maintain a clean and organized service truck, tools, and work area. Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Perform other maintenance and repair duties as needed. Qualifications 3+ years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy construction equipment required. Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy equipment systems. Experience troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs with minimal supervision. Experience with construction, grading, paving, or excavation equipment is strongly preferred. Valid driver's license required. CDL is a plus. Must have your own basic hand tools. Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety. The Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone who can show up, diagnose the problem, fix it right, and get the equipment back to work. The right candidate will be dependable, mechanically skilled, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently in the field. Experience in a construction environment is a major plus.
Pay:
$22.00 - $32.00 per hour
