Job Description

Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic Leland, NC Full-Time | $25-$40 per hour, based on experience Strategic Partner Solutions is recruiting an experienced Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic for a long-term opportunity supporting a global civil construction, ground-improvement, and remediation company in Leland, North Carolina. This is a hands-on diagnostic and repair position—not a preventive-maintenance-only role. We are seeking a fully tooled mechanic who can independently troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, industrial pumps, and complex heavy equipment. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair excavators, loaders, bulldozers, cranes, concrete pumps, foundation drilling rigs, and other heavy construction equipment Troubleshoot complex diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical problems Repair industrial water pumps, small-engine equipment, and related construction tools Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, fault codes, and diagnostic reports Perform component replacements, equipment rebuilds, welding, and fabrication as qualified Complete safety inspections, scheduled maintenance, and equipment evaluations Respond to occasional field-service and jobsite repair needs Enter repair information into work orders using web-based systems and diagnostic software Communicate with supervisors and field personnel to prioritize repairs and minimize equipment downtime Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work area Requirements Professional experience diagnosing and repairing diesel-powered heavy equipment Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical components Ability to independently troubleshoot equipment failures and complete repairs Comprehensive set of professional mechanic's tools appropriate for heavy-equipment diagnostics and repair Ability to interpret schematics, diagrams, fault codes, and diagnostic information Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to work primarily in a shop environment with occasional field assignments Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical work throughout the shift Welding and fabrication experience is helpful but not required Experience with foundation drilling rigs, including Bauer or Liebherr equipment, is highly desirable Compensation $25-$40 per hour, based on experience, technical ability, tools, and qualifications. The higher end of the range is reserved for fully tooled, senior-level mechanics who can independently diagnose and repair complex diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and heavy-equipment systems.
